Long time no see....

Goodness! It has been FOREVER since I've been here! I still haven't finished Dragonfly in Amber. That is sad. I really am enjoying the book but think I needed something else for a bit so I am joining an online book club.

I've never done anything like this but thought it would be fun. It's through one of my crafty friends, Alyce from Kit & Clowder and she's hosting it on Facebook so I figured why not give it a go!

The first book we are reading is The Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I just got it for my Nook and hope to start it later today!!

Happy Reading everyone!!

Dragonfly in Amber

I finished Outlander last night. It took me awhile to get started on the book...a little slow in the beginning but man, once I got into it, I couldn't put it down!

I'm not a good "review" person but I have to say I truly LOVED this book and am anxious to start the next book in the series, Dragonfly in Amber.

Not sure I'm going to reach my goal of 12 books this year but I'm pleased that I have been reading..and I'm not too far off. Who knows, maybe I'll become a total bookworm the next month and meet that goal!

Outlander..question answered

A friend wanted to know what this book/series was about so here's a copy/paste from Goodreads about it~

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon--when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach--an "outlander"--in a Scotland torn by war and raiding Highland clans in the year of Our Lord...1743.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into intrigues and dangers that may threaten her life...and shatter her heart. For here she meets James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, and becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire...and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Finally decided it was time to start another book series. I debated about what to read but had several friends recommend The Outlander series so I got the first one today.

Anyone else get excited when they start a new book? I'm giddy with excitement..hehe!!

Finished the Skinny Rules

I finished The Skinny Rules this week. It was an okay book, lots of good information, many things I have already been doing but nice to re-affirm my knowledge. Many of the "rules" are hardcore but I understand why they need to be that way but not sure even I would be willing to follow them yet...but hopefully eventually.

There are some good recipes and such in the book. I guess I just felt I wanted more talk about exercise and well, I don't know.

I'd give it a 3 stars out of 5--okay, and a good information source but not totally fabulous.

Not sure what I'm reading next but hope to figure it out soon!!

The Skinny Rules

Not a read for everyone I'm sure but I really like Bob Harper, a trainer from The Biggest Loser, so I was excited to start his book and learn more tools on my journey to get healthy.

Just started it today but so far I am liking his style of writing.

Ahh..the series is done

I finished Land of The Painted Caves today. I must admit I took my time with this one as I knew it was the last in the series. I almost feel  a sense of mourning over not getting to read more about Ayla and her life.

Taking a few days off and then I'll see what to read next!!
